Abstract

This research was carried out because it saw the lack of honesty and discipline of students that occurred in educational institutions such as schools or madrasah. The purpose of this research is to see what forms of example are implemented by teachers during the learning process, especially those related to the development of honest and disciplined character values. This research uses an interactive qualitative approach with a type of phenomenological research. Data collection techniques are carried out through the interview process, observation, and documentation. Determination of research subjects using Purposive Sampling. Data analysis techniques are carried out by reducing data, displaying data, then drawing conclusions. The validity examination of the data is carried out with the extension of participation, triangulation, and peer examination through discussion. The purpose of this research is: 1) The moral faith teacher at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 6 Kerinci understands what is meant by the exemplary method, 2) Forms of example, 3) The example method as a method for the development of honest and disciplined character values. 4) Obstacles to the application of the exemplary method.
