Abstract

This study aims to study the effect of applying contextual mathematics learning models to strengthening students' honest character. In education, strengthening honest character is an important aspect in forming a good personality and strong moral integrity. Honest character helps students take responsibility for their actions, build trust with others, and cultivate positive ethical values. This study used a quasi-experimental research design with a pretest-posttest control group. The two groups of learning models, namely the contextual learning model and the conventional model, were compared in terms of scores obtaining the student's honest character questionnaire. The results of the t-test showed that there was a significant difference between the two groups, with the contextual learning model group having a higher honest character angle acquisition score than the conventional model group. This shows that the use of contextual learning models has greater potential in improving students' honest character compared to conventional approaches. The implication of this research is the importance of considering the use of contextual learning strategies to develop students' honest character, not only in the field of mathematics, but also in other aspects of their lives.
