Abstract

This study aimed to improve elementary school students’ science learning outcomes using diorama media. Conducted as Classroom Action Research (CAR), the study consisted of two cycles, each involving planning, action, observation, and reflection. The participants were 15 five-grade students of SDN 24 Lundang. Data were collected through learning achievement tests and observation. The test data were analyzed using the percentage of learning mastery, while the observation data were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive approach. Results showed that students’ learning outcomes gradually improved: the pre-cycle mastery percentage was 33.33%, increased to 66.67% after Cycle I, and reached 86.67% in Cycle II. These findings indicate that diorama media effectively helps students understand science concepts concretely, enhances their attention and active participation, and creates more engaging and meaningful learning experiences. The study concludes that integrating diorama media into science instruction is an effective strategy to improve elementary students’ learning outcomes.
