Al-Qisthu: Jurnal Kajian Ilmu-ilmu Hukum  is a double blind peer-reviewed, scientific journal published by Faculty of Shariah, Institut Agama Islam Negeri Kerinci . The first issue was published on 2005 (prints). Since the first publication, it has changed several times in term of journal management and policy

• 2005, the first issue was published in print form. The ISSN Print was issued on, 2005
• Al-Qisthu: Jurnal Kajian Ilmu-ilmu Hukum has been online since 2015 but without e-ISSN
• Although Al-Qisthu: Jurnal Kajian Ilmu-ilmu Hukum has been online since 2015  yet the editorial process was done offline, including submission and review. In the end of 2018, the management agreed to do online editorial process.
• On Vol. 16, No. 2 2018, the ISSN Online was issued by LIPI
• Since 2018, All articles must be using the new template of Al-Qisthu: Jurnal Kajian Ilmu-ilmu Hukum 
• On 2018, the journal were registered and indexed to several website, including Google Scholar, Portal garuda, Sinta  etc.
• On 2018 Faculty of Shariah Institut Agama Islam Negeri Kerinci  was Crossref member and Al-Qisthu: Jurnal Kajian Ilmu-ilmu Hukum used DOI
• In 2021, Al-Qisthu: Jurnal Kajian Ilmu-Ilmu Hukum has been migrated from its hosting independently to hosting of IAIN Kerinci
• In 2021 too, Al-Qisthu: Jurnal Kajian Ilmu-Ilmu Hukum has changed the composition of the journal's manager and editors
• In 2021 too, Al-Qisthu: Jurnal Kajian Ilmu-Ilmu Hukum in 2021 has changed the template including changes to the layout, logo, font size, and font
• Since December 2021, AL-Qisthu has  published article in  English and arabic, but still accepts them in Indonesian
