Withdrawal Policy

1. General Principles

Al Fiddhoh: Journal of Banking, Insurance, and Finance is committed to maintaining the integrity, transparency, and accountability of the scholarly publishing process. Manuscript withdrawal is permitted only under legitimate circumstances and must follow the procedures established by the journal.

Authors are expected to submit manuscripts that are original, not published previously, and not simultaneously under consideration by another journal. Withdrawal requests must not be used to circumvent the peer-review process, avoid editorial decisions, or facilitate submission to another journal while the manuscript remains under consideration.

2. Withdrawal Before Peer Review

Authors who wish to withdraw a manuscript before the peer-review process begins must submit a formal written request to the Editor-in-Chief or the journal's editorial office.

The request must include:

  • The manuscript title and submission identification number.

  • The names of all authors.

  • The corresponding author's name and contact information.

  • A clear explanation of the reason for withdrawal.

  • Confirmation that all authors agree to the withdrawal.

The editorial office will review the request and provide written confirmation once the withdrawal has been approved and recorded in the journal's submission system.

3. Withdrawal During Peer Review

Withdrawal requests submitted after peer review has begun will be considered only for legitimate reasons. The corresponding author must provide a written explanation and confirmation that all co-authors agree to the request.

The Editor-in-Chief may seek clarification from the authors before making a decision. Until written confirmation of withdrawal has been issued by the journal, the manuscript remains under consideration and must not be submitted to another journal.

4. Withdrawal After Acceptance

A manuscript that has been accepted for publication may be withdrawn only in exceptional circumstances, such as the discovery of a serious error, a substantiated authorship dispute, a significant ethical concern, or another justified reason accepted by the Editor-in-Chief.

The journal may request supporting documentation and confirmation from all authors. Withdrawal after acceptance may also be considered where publication would create a serious ethical or legal concern.

The journal reserves the right to decline a withdrawal request when the reasons are insufficient or when the request appears intended to manipulate the publication process.

5. Withdrawal After Publication

Once an article has been formally published, it cannot ordinarily be withdrawn through the standard manuscript withdrawal procedure. Concerns involving a published article will be handled in accordance with the journal's Correction and Retraction Policy.

Depending on the nature and seriousness of the issue, the journal may publish a correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction notice. The editorial decision will be based on the available evidence and applicable publication ethics standards.

Removal of a published article from the journal website will be considered only in exceptional circumstances, such as legal requirements, serious risks to personal safety, or other compelling reasons. Any such action must be properly documented and communicated transparently.

6. Unauthorized or Improper Withdrawal

Submitting a manuscript to another journal while it is still under consideration by Al Fiddhoh, or withdrawing a manuscript without the agreement of all authors, may constitute a breach of publication ethics.

If the journal identifies an unauthorized or improper withdrawal, it may contact the corresponding author and other co-authors to seek clarification. Where appropriate, the journal may suspend editorial processing, reject the manuscript, or take other proportionate action consistent with publication ethics principles.

7. Withdrawal Fees

Al Fiddhoh does not impose a withdrawal fee for a legitimate withdrawal request. However, authors must comply with the journal's withdrawal procedures and obtain written confirmation from the editorial office.

Any other publication-related fees, if applicable, are governed by the journal's separately published fee policy.

8. Responsibilities of Authors and the Editorial Office

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all co-authors are informed of and agree to a withdrawal request. The corresponding author must communicate the request to the editorial office and provide accurate information.

The editorial office is responsible for reviewing the request fairly, documenting the decision, updating the manuscript's status in the submission system, and communicating the outcome to the corresponding author.

9. Policy Implementation

This policy applies to all manuscripts submitted to Al Fiddhoh: Journal of Banking, Insurance, and Finance. Withdrawal requests will be handled consistently, confidentially, and in accordance with the principles of publication ethics and editorial best practice.

The journal may revise this policy when necessary to reflect changes in publication ethics standards or editorial procedures.
