Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Journal of Da’wah must comply with the journal’s focus and scope, author guidelines, and publication ethics policies. Submitted manuscripts are expected to demonstrate academic originality, theoretical contribution, methodological rigor, and relevance to contemporary da’wah studies.

Before entering the review process, all manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to evaluate:

  • suitability with the journal’s scope,
  • adherence to submission guidelines,
  • academic quality,
  • and similarity screening results using Turnitin plagiarism detection software.

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal standards may be rejected at the preliminary stage without external review.

Journal of Da’wah implements a double-blind peer review process in which:

  • reviewers do not know the identity of the authors,
  • and authors do not know the identity of the reviewers.

Each manuscript is reviewed by independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the topic of the manuscript. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:

  • originality and novelty,
  • theoretical and practical contribution,
  • methodological appropriateness,
  • analytical depth,
  • clarity of presentation,
  • quality of references,
  • and relevance to the field of da’wah studies.

Reviewers are expected to provide constructive, objective, and scholarly feedback to improve the quality of the manuscript.

Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial decision may include:

  • Accept Submission,
  • Minor Revision,
  • Major Revision,
  • or Reject Submission.

Revised manuscripts may be returned to reviewers for further evaluation when necessary.

The final decision regarding manuscript acceptance and publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on reviewers’ reports, editorial considerations, and the overall academic quality of the manuscript.

To ensure fairness, confidentiality, and academic integrity, the peer review process is conducted in accordance with the ethical principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
